Itanagar, 13th June 2024 — In an official ceremony held at the Vivekananda Hall, Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, Ninong Ering, a senior member of the 8th State Legislative Assembly, was sworn in as the Pro tem Speaker of the 8th Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly. The oath of office was administered by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.).
As Pro tem Speaker, Ering will carry out the duties of the office until a Speaker is elected by the Assembly. His primary responsibility will be to administer oaths to the newly-elected legislators when the House convenes.
The ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and various Cabinet Ministers, among others.
