Night Patrolling Team Apprehends Notorious Bike Thief; Six Stolen Vehicles Recovered in East Kameng Operation

Seppa, East Kameng: The Night Patrolling team in East Kameng district apprehended a habitual bike thief, Marli Gadi (19 years old), on August 28th at approximately 07:30 hrs. Gadi, a resident of Village- Dikalmukh in Dist- Pakke Kesang, was caught red-handed with a stolen motorcycle.

During the subsequent investigation, Gadi confessed to having stolen two more bikes. In a further development, the police team recovered not just one, but six stolen vehicles in total, including a Royal Enfield Interceptor, a KTM RC, and a Honda Grazia Scooty.

However, the revelations didn’t stop there. Gadi admitted to being part of a larger operation involved in stealing two-wheelers from various locations, including ICR, Guwahati, Nagaon, and Tezpur. These stolen bikes were then sold in his village, Dikalmukh, Seijosa, and other parts of Assam.

To tackle this issue head-on, SP East Kameng Kamdam Sikom formed a dedicated team led by SI S. Lamgu and SI (Prob) Dukum Abu. The team, consisting of Ct. M. Doka, CT Yangfo, Ct. R. Taku, and Driver G. Rahul, conducted a meticulously planned operation in Dikalmukh and Seijosa, resulting in the recovery of six stolen vehicles, including a TVS Apache, Bajaj Pulsar 125, Yamaha FZ, Yamaha Fascino Scooty, KTM Duke 200, and another Bajaj Pulsar.

DySP (HQ) Matin Ratan, DySP (Prob) Sange Tenzin, and Insp Sochi Don were instrumental in assisting the police team during this operation, which marked a significant victory in the fight against bike theft in the region.

In light of these events, SP East Kameng has urged residents of Seppa township area to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police in identifying and apprehending criminals involved in such activities. This successful operation serves as a testament to the dedication and determination of the local law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and security in the region.
