Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Visits Remote Village under Vibrant Village Pilot Programme

A historic event unfolded on August 28, as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), made a remarkable journey to Chayang Tajo, a remote village in the East Kameng District. This marked the first-ever road visit by a Governor of the state to this secluded village, as part of the Vibrant Village Pilot Programme.

Amidst fervent chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and a warm traditional welcome, the Governor addressed a public gathering that included local MLA Haying Mangfi, Gaon Burahs, Panchayat members, government officials, and the general public. He stressed the importance of cultivating a “Nation First” spirit among citizens, emphasizing that border security is not solely the responsibility of security forces, but a collective duty.

During his address, Lt. General KT Parnaik highlighted the commitment of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and State Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu to the comprehensive development of border areas. He underlined the numerous welfare schemes and programs aimed at transforming these villages, urging the residents, particularly the youth, to seize these opportunities and become self-reliant rather than migrating to urban centers.

The Governor passionately encouraged the youth to embrace knowledge, discipline, and resilience, preparing themselves to overcome future challenges and contribute to the prosperity of the state and the nation. He also expressed his determination, along with the State Government and Raj Bhavan, to combat tuberculosis, cancer, and drug-related issues within the state, urging the community’s involvement in this mission.

In a bid to address the education dropout rates, Lt. General KT Parnaik appealed to parents and guardians to provide ample opportunities for their children’s educational excellence. He also advocated for the promotion of sports activities, games, and Yoga among young boys and girls, aiming to nurture physically fit, mentally alert, and morally upright future leaders and professionals.

Prior to the Governor’s visit, Shri Sachin Rana, the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner, revealed that 40 villages in the East Kameng District were chosen for the Vibrant Village Programme. These include 18 villages from Bameng Circle, 14 villages from Chayang Tajo, and 8 villages from Khenewa Circle.
