E-Challan Training Program Held for Traffic Police in ICR

Yupia, 11 June 2024 – A training program for the implementation of the e-challan system using POS machines was conducted today at the NIC conference hall, Civil Secretariat. The initiative was organized with the assistance and coordination of the Road Safety Cell and staff of PHQ under the guidance of Sepraj Perme, SP Traffic, ICR cum Road Safety PHQ. The aim is to facilitate cashless fine deposits for traffic violators, ensuring transparency and benefiting road users.

Thirty traffic police officers participated in the training, which was also supported by the DTO Yupia, the nodal officer for the e-challan system from the Transport Department, and an NIC officer. The e-challan system is expected to be implemented later this month, pending the resolution of some administrative matters.

The Traffic Police ICR, responsible for traffic regulation, parking systems, and enforcement, is continually working to improve the traffic system for road users under the supervision of SP Traffic ICR. The introduction of the e-challan system marks a significant step towards modernizing traffic management and enhancing road safety in the region. Following its rollout in ICR, the system will be expanded to other districts.
