Assam Rifles orchestrated the Intra-Changlang Badminton Tournament, catering to age groups 12-14 and 14-16 for both boys and girls. The competition served as a preliminary selection process for the TCL District Level and Arunachal Pradesh State Level Badminton Competitions.
The initiative aims to instill the significance of sports and sportsmanship within the youth of the nation, emphasizing the age group of 12-16. The event took place from August 21 to 22, 2023, at the Changlang Officer’s Club Badminton Complex.
The tournament followed the guidelines set by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and comprised Boys’ and Girls’ Singles matches for the U-14 and U-16 categories. A total of 30 boys and 18 girls in the age group participated, showcasing their skills and determination.
Out of the participants, six players in each category were chosen based on their performance, reflecting their commitment and prowess. Spectators and participants alike lauded Assam Rifles for their efforts in promoting sports and providing a platform to recognize and nurture genuine talent.
