Arunachal Pradesh BJP Vice President Tarh Tarak Honored for Border Assessment Mission

Tarh Tarak, the Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh, has been acknowledged and honored for his exceptional efforts in assessing the border situations along the Sino-India border. Since December 2022, Tarak embarked on a comprehensive tour of the border areas, including the last villages and border outposts, to interact with border villagers, assuring them of support and solidarity. His dedication to the “Sharhad Yatra” mission made him the first individual in India to undertake such an endeavor, earning him recognition and accolades from prominent figures at a recent event in New Delhi.

Arunachal Pradesh, known for its challenging geography and adverse weather conditions, shares a 1,129-kilometer border with China, which often claims the state as its territory, referring to it as ‘South Tibet.’ This makes Arunachal Pradesh a highly sensitive region. Tarak’s commitment to the mission and his groundbreaking efforts were acknowledged by Sudarshan News CEO, Suresh Chavank, and Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Sadvi Niranjan Jyoti, during the Sudarshan News conclave held in New Delhi on Monday evening. The timing of the event coincided with the nine-year completion of the Modi Government.

In an interview, Tarak expressed his motivation for undertaking this significant mission, citing the frequent rumors of incursions by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) into Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that the credit for the success of the mission goes to the entire Sharhad Yatra team and the dedicated workers who supported him in drawing national attention to the border situation.

During his tour of the last villages and border outposts in all 19 border districts, Tarak interacted with local residents and discovered a peaceful coexistence between the people and the security forces stationed there. However, he also noted some concerns regarding the improper implementation of certain welfare schemes by the central and state governments.

Tarak’s most significant statement came as he assured the media that there has been no visible encroachment or intrusion by the PLA in Arunachal Pradesh since the Indo-China War of 1962. This statement resonated strongly with various stakeholders, including Beijing and the PLA, effectively conveying a message of unwavering Indian sovereignty over the region.

Tarak’s exceptional dedication and his tireless efforts to assess the border situations in Arunachal Pradesh have not only drawn attention to the state but have also highlighted the resilient spirit of its people. The honor bestowed upon him recognizes his significant contribution to safeguarding the territorial integrity of the nation and promoting peace and security along the Sino-India border.
